NEWARTMUSIK emerged as a project to perform, promote and disseminate new concert music. Its root goes back to the OMORFIA ENSEMBLE. A music performance group founded in 2006 as a new-music asymmetric chamber ensemble. Under the direction of its founder, conductor Sylvia Constantinidis, OMORFIA premiered in concert in 2006 at the FESTIVAL OF MIAMI EMERGING COMPOSERS CONCERT, later that year at the MDC NEW MILLENIUM CONCERT SERIES, and on the fall, at the MDC FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS.

Under the direction of its founder, conductor Sylvia Constantinidis, OMORFIA premiered in concert in 2006 at the FESTIVAL OF MIAMI EMERGING COMPOSERS CONCERT, later that year at the MDC NEW MILLENIUM CONCERT SERIES, and on the fall, at the MDC FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS. By 2009, OMORFIA ENSEMBLE started its collaboration for composers’ concerts with the NACUSA SOUTHEAST Chapter. Later, in 2010 NEWARTMUSIK premiered two major new-music festivals for contemporary music: the FLAMINGO NEWMUSIC in the USA and the EUROAMERICAN in Europe. With these festivals the SECCO & ECCO SINFONIETTA were created. Furthermore, up to today, these events has allowed for the participation of over two hundred composers, musical performers and artists from all over the world.
 
Since the early beginnings of the OMORFIA ENSEMBLE, masterclasses and workshops has always been part of NEWARTMUSIK activities. The performance workshops and masterclasses initiated on the very beginning days of OMORFIA ENSEMBLE. These educational events are destined to assist students, young artists and performers to train on technique, interpretation, new-music techniques, and new-music repertoire. And, in addition, since 2009 NEWARTMUSIK also holds workshops, seminars and masterclasses for young composers. They are destined to nurture creativity, to promote and disseminate creation processes and techniques, and, to keep up to date with new tendencies.

In 2011, NEWARTMUSIK PROMETHEUS project emerges with the mission to enrich students and young artists’ skills and to help them potentiate their emerging careers throughout forums, seminars, workshops, masterclasses, courses and competitions. Later in 2017, NEWARTMUSIK added the NEWOPERA project to the framework. This project creates a space to promote the creation, study and performance of new opera music with concerts, workshops, seminars and masterclasses for composers and performers. And, in 2019, NEWARTMUSIK initiates the PINAKES, an archiving, preservation and dissemination of newmusic project.

In 2020, with the advent of covid, NEWARTMUSIK opened a new window into the future with the creation of new digital spaces for artists, composers and performers participation, and for new concert music dissemination. Since then, a new framework of programs were initiated. REFLEXIONS, ARTSUNDAY, the MASTERWORKS CONCERT SERIES and MEET THE ARTISTS, were initiated then as different windows for music and cultural exchange and art and newmusic works dissemination. Later in 2021 the NEWARTMUSIC KOLLECTIVE, a new space for artist creation and collaborations emerged. In 2022, with a vision into the future, NEWARTMUSIK started NEBULLA, a 3D Digital Gallery and Library for exhibition and dissemination. This new metaverse opens new frontiers into the future.
